What is CLAT?
- CLAT stands for the Common Law Admission Test.
- t is a national level law examination.
- National Law Universities across the country (NLUs) conduct CLAT annually to admit students to their undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes such as BA LLB, B.Com LLB and B.Sc LLB.
- CLAT is an online examination.
- National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi (NUALS Kochi) is the conducting authority for CLAT 2019.
- 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) are marked as participating institutes.
- The total number of seats offered for the undergraduate programmes are 2400.
- The total number of seats offered for the postgraduate programmes are 624.
- There are close to 40,000 CLAT test takers for the UG programmes and close to 5,500 CLAT test takers for the PG programmes.
- The test has 200 objective type questions for UG courses
- For PG courses, the test has 50 questions.

How to apply for CLAT 2019
Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2019
Age:
The minimum age limit for all candidates is 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
The maximum age limit for CLAT is 25 years for general candidates and 30 years for reserved candidates.
Subjects:
You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, any other elective subject with English.
Score in 12th grade (or equivalent) examination:
As a general category candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 50% in your 10+2 or equivalent examination.
As an OBC, SC or ST candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 40%.
As a SC-PH, ST-PH or OBC-PH candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 40%.
As a PH, PwD or Gen-PH candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 45%.
Number of attempts:
You can attempt the exam as many times as you want till the age of 25.

Exam Pattern for CLAT
The examination for LLB Programmes will include 5 broad sections namely: English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Elementary Maths, Legal Aptitude and, Logical Reasoning.
